One workout. One day a year. Together.
Memorial Day Monday. Every Gymnasium running it at the same time. The hardest thing on the calendar, and the one most members come back for.
The workout
For time, with a vest if you have one:
What it honours
Murph is the workout Lt. Michael Murphy did regularly before he was killed in Afghanistan in 2005. It became the standard CrossFit Memorial Day workout, and it's something gyms around the world now do together every year. We run it at all five locations, same morning, same time.
Scaling
Half-Murph, partner-Murph, banded pull-ups, every member finds a version they can do. The point isn't the prescribed numbers. It's showing up and doing the thing alongside the rest of the room.
Members book through the app. Heats run all morning.
The annual benchmark.
Most people will tell you Murph hurts. Fewer will tell you it's their favourite session of the year. Both are usually true. It's the only workout we run identically across all five gyms on the same morning, and the only one members talk about for weeks afterwards.
